Earlier today, the Super Falcons of Nigeria roundly humiliated the co-host of the 2023 fifa women world cup Australia to record Africa first win in the tournament and bringing them to the top of group B.

It was a stunning performance from the Nigeria team and we moved to the street to feel the pause of Nigerians over the victory. To many, it was well expected knowing the track records of the team and the caliber of disciplined players they parade.

"Congratulations and we are very proud of our girls for making us smile again. I pray for the girls to succeed and give us reasons to continue bearing the hardship imposed on us by our new colonial masters(politicians)"

"Congratulations to Super Falcons. They showed resilience greatly, showed determination excellently, fought undeterred, refused to be intimidated by the mammoth crowd at the four corners of the pitch and the 'twelve' players on the pitch. Well done, Super ladies"

             - Nnamdi Ezeokoye -

"There is no better feelings as the victory. Despite the economic hardship and political dispensation una still make us proud. Since May 29, this is the first joyful thing that has happened to Nigerians"

          - Uhembe Manasseh -

"Congratulations to our girls. NFF should have some shame. It's nauseating that they are yet to pay the Super Falcons their bonuses, but quick to come out to celebrate their victory.

           - Gregory Izunaso -

"Like INEC, officials tried to rig the match with additional 11 minutes added to the game. But Nigeria no dey carry last"

           - Nefertiti -

"Six players were world class today - Ohale, Demehim, Payne, Ajibade, Ayinde and Oshoala. I just hope they are all fit for the rest of the tournament. With Deborah Abiodun returning, this team could get to the semi finals"

         - Ayo Akinfe -
