AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT TO COMMENCE CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYMENT, 15,000 UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS RECEIVES 750M BUSINESS GRANTS



The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno at the official presentation of business grants of 750 million Naira to 15,000 unemployed youths in the State announced plans for civil service recruitment.

Governor Eno who said the recruitment will soon commence through the State Youth Employment portal, encouraged youths to register on the portal, which has been designed to simplify access to jobs and other employment-related initiatives and assured his administration's commitment to transparency and inclusivity in public service recruitment. 

The Governor while presenting the business grants to the beneficiaries described the initiative as a cornerstone of his administration commitment to youth empowerment and capacity building, urging them to utilize the grants for productive ventures that will enhance their personal growth and contribute significantly to the state's economy. 

"This disbursement is more than financial support, it is a testament to our government's dedication to turning promises into measurable results.

"We are building a stronger, more inclusive economy founded on the ingenuity, innovation, and determination of our youth."

He commended the State ICT Directorate for their immense role in digitizing public processes, which has brought efficient management and accurate record keeping for the programme. 

Speaking earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT, Frank Ekpenyong took time to enlighten the public on the modalities set out for the selection process and revealed that the system was configured to remove people who were not qualified to participate.
