It appears the People's Democratic Party(PDP) in Abia State is having it rough with its members, particularly the big wigs in the party following the poor performance of the party in the last general election that saw the emergence of the Labour Party government under Governor Alex Otti.
Recently, the Party was thrown into a State of confusion with the massive resignation of its prominent stakeholders including the immediate past Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji who stated various reasons for dumping the party that had provided them the platform to actualize their political aspiration.
However, there are speculations that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu could be nursing the political ambition to run for the Governorship seat in the State by 2027, and he is gradually wooing top members of the People's Democratic Party in the State to form alliance with his party, the All Progressive Party(APC).
