NIGERIA FIRST LADY, OLUREMI TINUBU, MRS. PRISCILLA OTTI AND OTHERS GRACED IMO WOMEN AUGUST MEETING

The wife of the Nigeria President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in company of the first lady of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, and other distinguished personalities graced the grand finale of the 2023 Imo Women August meeting held at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri.

The Nigeria first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu while addressing the mammoth crowd described August women conference of the south East women as a programme that should be emulated by women from other parts of the country to stimulate community development and  reminded the women of their laudable roles in shaping their homes, community development and promoting women related issues. 

She disclosed the determination of the government at the centre to promoting women empowerment and providing democracy dividends to all Nigerians.

In his remarks,  the Imo state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma commended his wife Chief Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma for mobilizing all women from their various local government areas and thanked the wife of the president Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu for gracing the occasion. 

In her speech, the wife of the Imo State governor Chief Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma noted that August women conference is an opportunity to encourage women to support one another to excel. 

She disclosed that the programme makes them to celebrate womenfolk and encourage one another to attain their potentials in life. 

Speaking at the event,  the wife of the Abia State governor Mrs.Priscilla Otti said that August women conference has become an acceptable development catalyst in the south East region that will later spread across other states in the country because of its enormous benefits to women and communities. 

Speaking also, the Chairman on the occasion and the Minister of women affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy Ohanaya urged the women to form cooperatives to benefit in the empowerment programmes of the government and world bank loans, and assured that president Bola Tinubu has many programmes that will uplift women and the vulnerable in the society.

 The event featured March past, empowerment of indigent women, and was attended by some senators, federal ministers, wives of some governors across the country and other distinguished personalities.
