The wife of the governor of Abia State Mrs. Priscilla Otti has advocated for quick dispensation of justice in the country in order to decongest the Nigeria correction centres. 

Mrs Otti who made the advocate at the Medium Security Custodial centre, Aba during a visit, said that the administration of Governor Alex Otti is working hard to engage the unemployed youths with skill acquisition programmes to build their capacity and reduce crimes that lead them to correctional centres, and also make education accessible to all, and to alleviate the suffering of people through empowerment. 

The Abia first lady urged the inmates to take seriously the training and rehabilitation they are given to become responsible members of the society, pointing that Governor Alex Otti will continue to give support to Nigeria correctional centre to enable them to provide better services to the inmates.

"I am pleased to announce that the Government of Dr Alex Otti is committed to assisting in enhancing the correctional facility's workshop, emphasizing skill acquisition and promoting educational advancement among inmates", Mrs. Otti said.

In her speech, the State Comptroller of Nigeria Correctional service, Abia command Mrs. Julie Anyanwu said that the command offers rehabilitation services to the inmates and train them in different vocational skills that will enable them create wealth and be responsible as they reintegrate with their families.

 She thanked the wife of the governor for visiting the centre and added that it will give the inmates a sense of belonging.

In their remarks, the commissioner for women affairs and poverty Alleviation Mrs. Blessings Felix and the Mayor of  Aba South local government area Chief Uche Nwogu, disclosed that the visit of the wife of the governor to Nigeria correctional centre is auspicious and connotes that the present government will provide more  democracy dividends to the downtrodden in society.

 They urged the inmates not to lose hope in their present situation but turn a new leaf through the rehabilitation they have received. 

The wife of the governor presented cash gift and food items to the Medium Security Custodial centre, Aba correctional centre Aba, and was accompanied by the wife of the deputy governor Mrs. Adaeze Emetu among other top government officials.
