The wife of the Governor of Abia State Mrs. Priscilla Otti has assured  to partner the members of International Federation of women lawyers(FIDA) to protect the rights of women, children and reduce the prevalence of gender based violence in the society.

Mrs. Otti who stated this in government house, Umuahia during a visit by the executive members of FIDA described their roles in society as important, and good partners with government in protecting  the fundamental human rights of the people.


"You are very key partners being women lawyers who are committed in the work you are doing to support women and the vulnerable in the society"

She disclosed that the present government in the State will create enabling environment to help carry out their programme,  pointing out that all their requests will be communicated to Governor Alex Otti.


In her remarks, President of International Federation of Women lawyers, Abia State Chapter, Mrs. Akudo Amanamba said that the visit was to pledge their loyalty, and seek collaboration in their programmes with the Office of the wife of the governor.

"We come with a shared purpose to forge a stronger partnership and collaboration that will further our collaborative efforts to create a more just and equitable society. We believe that by working together we can leverage on our respective strength and resources to effect positive change and uplift the voices of women who too often remain marginalized", Mrs. Amanamba disclosed.

The FIDA President, Abia State Chapter prayed God to strengthen the first lady in discharge of her duties.
